Welcome! This is our little play.
In a play, everyone has roles:
I will be the hero, and the person will be yours.
We will wake to the world, the world our stage:
You know your lines – I’ve learned my own.
The curtain will unroll, and you already dressed in your smile
I stand naked on the stage
And as I quickly dress
Your audience is not impressed.
But the show goes on
And any movement makes warmth
So we’ll dance and play till my words and lips melt
From smoldering heat
And then my cheeks, my face
Till I’m skin undressed
And it’s Me that’s left.
And like the hero, who yells and screams to play his role
I’ll turn to frozen stone, as the curtains roll closed.
