Walden the Walnut
A husband, a father, a lover
He works his walnut job
On weekends, he enjoys his walnut time off
He saves up for a walnut car, so his family can go on walnut vacations
When his daughter went to school, he held her hand
When she had her first heartbreak, he held her tissues
When she was moving out, he held her tight, afraid of losing her forever
When he met his wife, they shared a glance
When he told her his vows, they shared a kiss
When their daughter was born, they shared a home.
You’ll see Walden around, living his walnut life
He might give you a wave, maybe a smile
He will go along all the time
Work his job, drive home
Only sometimes, when Walden’s wife isn’t home and his daughter isn’t around
You will find Walden sitting on his bedroom floor, back against the bed
His walnut shell will be cracked open
He will be spilling out onto the floor.
He will have cleaned up the mess by the time his wife is home and his daughter is around.
He will make drive his walnut car to his walnut job
Because the Walnut is happy
